The short version

Who is responsible

I am: Thorarinn Johannsson, Stockholm, Sweden. You can reach me at thorarinnjohannsson@gmail.com.

This site and the AI version of me are a personal project. I make them in my own time, outside my job, to learn what modern technology can do. They are not connected to my employer.

The AI version of me

When you ask it something, your text goes to a small server I run on Cloudflare, and from there to Anthropic, a company in the US that writes the answer. It also checks whether your message looks like a hiring enquiry, so I know who to reply to first. Anthropic handles your text only to do that, as a service provider for me. If you say which company you are hiring for, or leave an email, I may use that to work out which job you are writing about.

What I save: your question, the answer it gave, a topic label, whether it looked like a hiring enquiry, the time, a random visit number that resets when you close the tab, and, unless your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, a random visitor ID kept in your browser. The ID lets me recognise that the same browser came back, for example to see that someone who asked a question last week has returned. It isn't linked to your name, and it's not shared with other sites or other devices. If you pick why you came (hiring, designer or just curious), that is saved with it. If you press "Yes" or "Not really" under an answer, or answer the follow-up question about why you came, that is saved too, without knowing who you are. The database is in the EU. Everything is deleted automatically after 90 days at most.

It is an AI. It can be wrong, and it is not me. Nothing about you is decided automatically beyond that hiring flag. Please don't type anything sensitive, such as health details, finances, or information about other people.

Visit statistics

When you open the site I count one anonymous visit. It records your country (worked out from your IP address by Cloudflare, and I never store the address), your device type (phone, tablet or computer), the site or campaign link you came from, and the time. I also count which starter questions and buttons get used.

If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, I don't count the visit. These counts are kept for up to 90 days.

To stop abuse, I limit how many questions one visitor can ask per day. That uses a scrambled (hashed) version of the IP address that expires after about a day.

If you leave your email

If the chat offers to let me reply, or you choose "Say hi to the real one", and you type your email, I save it for up to 90 days with the question you were asking, if there was one, and use it only to answer you. If you email me directly, the message sits in my email account (Gmail, run by Google) for as long as I need it.

Cookies and storage

The site sets no cookies. Your browser keeps a few small things so the chat and the counting work. None of them are shared with other sites or other devices:

Who else is involved

Some of these companies are in the US. They handle data under standard safeguards for transfers out of the EU, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.

Why this is allowed

I rely on a legitimate interest: running the site, keeping it safe, understanding what visitors ask, and replying to enquiries. If you give me your email, it's so I can answer you.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete what I have about you, or object to it. You can also complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).

Chats are anonymous, so I can only find yours if you tell me what you wrote and roughly when. I'll answer within a month.

Changes

If the site changes what it saves, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
